Re: [Kb-complexity] RE: Kb-complexity Digest, Vol 1, Issue 3

Hi
I too have been influenced by Capra, Maturana, & Varela. I like very
much the structural coupling idea which comes out of their thinking to
describe the relationship between an entity and its environment. This is
a fruitful idea of how an entity changes, within limits defined by its
own internal patterns, as a result of interaction with its environment,
but also that environments are changed by their interactions with the
entities in their space. They co-evolve together.

My particular interest is in applying these kinds of ideas to
neighbourhood communities and their internal dynamics - between
residents and others operating in the neighbourhoods, and the
interactions between all those and the public agencies affecting those
neighbourhoods.
